We were so excited to host Parish of Christ the King Catholic Church this summer here in Bryan/College Station! Sixty young men and women join us from Tulsa, OK, and helped repair eight houses. Thank you for your servant attitude and making an impact on those in need. Here is a closer look at what these groups accomplished:

November 2016

Christmas is a few days away and Rebuilding Together BCS is contacted about two elderly homeowners that don't have heat for the cold days. Project Rice involved making contact with the existing AC repairman and covering the cost of the repairs to get heat restored.

Project Dorothy involved replacement of the roof-top HVAC unit. It just so happened, a grant from Wells Fargo for $2500 was just received and the cost of the HVAC unit was $3000. With the help of American AC ... we were able to restore the heat to Ms. Dorothy. In the meantime, a small room heater was provided and seems to do good. God is good!!

Project Martinez

Project Martinez

The Martinez family has lived in this home for the past 20 years. The Martinez family consist of Mr. and Mrs. Martinez, mother and two children.

Mr. Martinez has a reputation with members of the City of Bryan Community Development Group, family and friends of constantly taking care of his home. He has worked diligently to make his home comfortable as he can for his family. He has upgraded the bathroom, worked on improving the kitchen, maintained the exterior painting, but he larger improvements are simply out of reach for him, financially and physically.

Project Dennis

Project Dennis

Ms. Darling and her mom (Ms. Dennis) live together in this home. In 1997, Mr. Dennis was diagnosed with bladder cancer and at that time Ms. Darling moved in with her to care for her mom. Ms. Darling served as her mom’s primary caretaker for the next 19 years in this house.

In recent days, Ms. Darling’s mom spent most of her time confined to a hospital bed, located in the living room of the home, suffering from other health issues.
